Our Foster Care Program:
Foster families are needed for "special needs" homeless pets. It is designed to help certain dogs and cats during their recovery period from injury or illness as well as infant kitten and puppies requiring bottle feeding. Fostering a senior pet, especially during the winter months, can help alleviate kennel overcrowding and provide a healthier safe haven for that pet in the interim. Some pets do not do well emotionally or physically in the shelter environment, so a foster home can be a life saver for them. If you would like more information or wish to become a foster parent to a homeless pet, please contact our shelter at 986-2473. It's a wonderful way to help animals without making a lifelong commitment.

The Riley Fund:
The Riley Fund is a special fund for ill or injured older homeless pets requiring special, sometimes expensive, medical treatment. It was established in 2000 by Ms. K. Doyle after she found "Riley", a lost older terrier mix, who nearly lost his leg due to neglect. She brought Riley to us and after proper veterinary care and lots of love during his recovery, he was adopted into a wonderful family. Ms. Doyle started the Riley fund to help Riley and continues her support of this fund to help our other sick and disabled senior animals. Donations designated for the Riley Fund are most gratefully accepted. Click here for mail-in form.
